Scope
GB/T 28705-2012 is the English-translated version of 无损检测 脉冲涡流检测方法.
GB/T 28705-2012 is the Chinese standard "Non-destructive testing - Test method for pulsed eddy current testing". Its scope clause reads: This standard sets out without removing the covering layer of the wall thickness due to corrosion thinning large area for detecting pulsed eddy current inspection Measuring method.
This standard applies to detect the thickness of carbon steel, low alloy steel and other ferromagnetic material is 3mm ~ 65mm, the thickness of the cover layer 0 ~ 200mm, a temperature of -150 °C ~ 500 °C in the member, and no less than the diameter of the pipe or tube of 50mm.
This standard does not apply to pitting, pits and other local wall thickness caused by thinning and crack detection type defects. This standard does not establish the evaluation criterion, specific criteria by the detection and users of mutual consultation.
This standard does not fully given when the safety requirements for testing, the use of this standard to establish appropriate safety obligation of the parties prior to detection And protection guidelines. Its clauses include terms and definitions.

1 Scope
This standard sets out without removing the covering layer of the wall thickness due to corrosion thinning large area for detecting pulsed eddy current inspection
Measuring method.
This standard applies to detect the thickness of carbon steel, low alloy steel and other ferromagnetic material is 3mm ~ 65mm, the thickness of the cover layer
0 ~ 200mm, a temperature of -150 °C ~ 500 °C in the member, and no less than the diameter of the pipe or tube of 50mm.
This standard does not apply to pitting, pits and other local wall thickness caused by thinning and crack detection type defects.
This standard does not establish the evaluation criterion, specific criteria by the detection and users of mutual consultation.
This standard does not fully given when the safety requirements for testing, the use of this standard to establish appropriate safety obligation of the parties prior to detection
And protection guidelines.

3 Terms and Definitions
GB/T 12604.6 defined and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Overlay coating
In bonding, adsorption, wrapped, twisted, or other forms of mosaic covering the surface of the subject matter, such as paints, plastics, asphalt, rock wool, foam,
Filament wire mesh, cement, carbon (glass) fiber, and other marine life. Cover layer generally consists of coating, insulation and protective layers and other industrial equipment used composition.
3.2 Bending point
In double logarithmic coordinates, pulsed eddy current detection signal waveform transition from straight segments to curve segments turning point.
3.3 The characteristic time
And the time corresponding to the bending point, characterize eddy diffusion from the surface of the subject member to the bottom of the time, and its size is proportional to the magnetic permeability detection element,
Conductivity and thickness of the square.
4. Summary
The basic principle of pulsed eddy current testing method is shown in Figure 1. Through with a single rectangular pulse or square wave current excitation coil emits a magnetic […]
