GB/T 28168-2025 is the English-translated version of 信息技术 中间件 消息中间件技术要求.
GB/T 28168-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering what a message broker has to provide — the reference model, the deployment and the storage mechanism, the transport protocols and connection modes and the message uniqueness that stops a message being delivered twice, the message attributes, priority, expiry and transactions, the publish-subscribe, point-to-point and routing services, the development interface, the operation, logging, alarm and monitoring, the encryption, authentication, access control and audit, and the automatic recovery and route backup. Issued on 25 April 2025, it has been in force since 1 November 2025, replacing GB/T 28168-2011.

Foreword
This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1: Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting.
This document replaces GB/T 28168-2011 "Technical Specification for Information Technology Middleware Message Middleware" and GB/T 28168- Compared with 2011, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) Change "Architecture and composition of message middleware" to "Technical reference model of message middleware" (see Chapter 5, 2011 edition) Chapter 4);
b) Change “functional requirements” to “transmission management” and “application development” (see Chapters 8 and 11, Chapter 5 of the 2011 edition);
c) Added storage management (see Chapter 7);
d) Changed message management (see Chapter 9, 4.2.4 of the 2011 edition);
e) Added message service (see Chapter 10);
f) Change “Quality Characteristics Attributes” to “Operation and Maintenance Management”, “Reliability” and “Usability” (see Chapters 12, 14 and 15, Chapter 7 of the 2011 edition);
g) Safety management has been modified (see Chapter 13, 4.2.9 of the 2011 edition);
h) Deleted the supported operating environments (see Chapter 8 of the 2011 edition).

1 Scope
This document establishes the technical reference model of message middleware and specifies deployment management, storage management, transmission management, message management, message Requirements for services, application development, operation and maintenance management, security management, reliability and ease of use.
This document applies to the design, development, application and testing of message middleware software.
2 Normative references

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 message-oriented middleware
Software that supports messaging and integration of distributed systems through queuing and messaging mechanisms.

3.2 message
Information passed or exchanged between different applications.
Note. The format and content of the message are determined by negotiation between the sender and receiver of the message.
3.3 Message sendermessagesender
The entity that originated the message.
Note. The entity that actively publishes messages by subscribing to topics is called a message publisher.
3.4 message receivermessagereceiver
The entity that receives the message.
Note. An entity that actively receives messages by subscribing to a topic is called a message subscriber.
3.5 queue
A buffer entity that stores messages.
3.6 message priority messagepriority
Set different priority levels for messages according to their urgency.
Note. Messages have different priorities. During the message sending and receiving process, high priority messages are processed first.
3.7 expirationofmessage
When a message is generated, the message attributes set by the application specify the period within which the message can be consumed.
Note. Messages within the validity period can be consumed by applications.
