GB/T 26907-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering the planting stock for oil-tea camellia — bare-root and container seedlings sorted into two grades, the seedling age and type from cuttings to grafted stock, the height and the ground diameter, the number of first-order lateral roots at least 5 cm long that decides whether a seedling can find water in its first summer, the container specification, the test methods, and the inspection and judgment rules. It replaces GB/T 26907-2011, under the National Forestry and Grassland Administration. In force from 1 November 2025. Issued on 1 August 2025, it has been in force since 1 November 2025, replacing GB/T 26907-2011.

Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1: Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting.

This document replaces GB/T 26907-2011 “Quality Grading of Camellia oleifera Seedlings”. Compared with GB/T 26907-2011, except for the structural adjustment and In addition to editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

— Deleted the technical information of seedlings, seedling age, ground diameter, seedling height, stem growth point, root length, seedlings, bud seedlings, grafted seedlings, cuttings, and container seedlings.

Terms and definitions (see 3.1 to 3.4, 3.4.1, 3.5, 3.6, 3.7.1, 3.8, and 3.9 of the 2011 edition);

— Changed the terms and definitions of large roots and grafted seedlings (see 3.3, 3.4, 3.5.1, 3.7 of the 2011 edition);

— Added terms and definitions for Camellia oleifera, Camellia oleifera seedlings and bare-root seedlings (see 3.1, 3.2, 3.5);

— Deleted the seedling types of seedlings and cuttings, and the percentages of Grade I and Grade II seedlings (see Table 1 of the 2011 edition);

— Added the types and grade indicators of two-year-old bare-root cuttings (see Table 1);

— Changed the grading index for 2-year-old grafted seedlings and bare-root seedlings (see Table 1, Table 1 of the 2011 edition);

— Added 2-year-old container seedlings and 3-year-old container seedlings, as well as 2-year-old cutting container seedlings, 2-year-old grafted container seedlings, 3-year-old grafted container seedlings seedling grade indicators (see Table 2);

— Changed the one-year-old grafted container seedlings seedling grade indicators (see Table 2, Table 1 of the 2011 edition);

— Changed the quality requirements for seedling type, seedling age, seedling height, ground diameter, grade I seedlings, grade II seedlings, and comprehensive indicators (see Table 1 and Table 2, 2011 Table 1 of the 2010 edition);

— Added the quality requirement of "number of grade I lateral roots >=5 cm long" for bare-root seedlings (see Table 1);

— Increased container specifications (see Table 2);

— Changed the test method (see Chapter 6, Chapter 5 of the 2011 edition);

— Changed the inspection rules (see Chapter 7, Chapter 6 of the 2011 edition);

— Added judgment rules (see 7.4);

1 Scope

This document specifies the classification and quality requirements, inspection rules, packaging, marking and transportation of oil-tea camellia seedlings, and describes the corresponding testing method.

This document applies to the production and distribution of improved seedlings in oil-tea camellia producing areas. Similar and closely related species may also follow this document.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Camellia oleifera

A general term for oil-bearing species of the genus Camellia (L.) with high seed oil content and economic cultivation value.

3.2 Camellia oleifera seedlings

Plants used for oil-tea tree afforestation production are cultivated through grafting, cuttings and other propagation methods using high-quality oil-tea tree cuttings.

3.3

Adventitious roots similar to the main roots germinate from the base of the cuttings.

Note. The diameter of the adventitious roots is greater than 20% of the ground diameter of the seedlings, and the vertical angle is less than 45°.

3.4 grafted seedlings

Seedlings cultivated through grafting technology use bud seedlings or one-year-old seedlings as rootstocks and fine variety cuttings as scion.

3.5 bare-rooted seedlings

Cultivated in the nursery, with no soil or other substrate attached to the roots when transplanted, and the roots of the seedlings are exposed during transportation and afforestation.

4 Categories

Oil tea seedlings are divided into two types. bare-root seedlings and container seedlings.

5 Quality Grades

The quality of oil-tea seedlings is divided into two grades. The grade index of oil-tea bare root seedlings should meet the requirements of Table 1, and the grade index of oil-tea container seedlings should meet the requirements of Table 1. The provisions of Table 2.
