Scope

GB/T 26733-2011 is the English-translated version of 玻璃纤维湿法毡.

China's national product standard for glass fibre wet-laid mat. It specifies the classification, the requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the marking, packaging, transport and storage of mats made by the wet-laid process. Wet-laid mat is made on what is essentially a paper machine: chopped glass fibres are dispersed in water, the slurry is drained on a moving wire to form a web, a binder is applied and the web is dried and wound. The route is borrowed from papermaking and it gives what the dry-laid processes cannot - a very uniform, thin, light mat with a controlled and open structure, made continuously and cheaply. That uniformity is the product. The mat is used as a carrier and a reinforcement in places where it is never seen: in roofing membranes, where it carries the bitumen and gives the sheet its tensile strength and dimensional stability; in flooring and wall coverings; as a surfacing veil on composites, where it holds a resin-rich layer at the surface and hides the print-through of the structural fibres; in filtration; and in battery separators. In every one of those the mat is impregnated with something, and the property that matters most is not strength alone but the consistency of the structure - a thin spot lets the bitumen through, a heavy spot will not wet out. So the standard specifies the mass per unit area and its uniformity, the thickness, the tensile strength dry and wet, the binder content and type, the moisture, the porosity or air permeability, and the dimensional characteristics of the roll. And it specifies the sampling, because the properties of a mat are averages over an area and mean nothing measured at a point. Issued on 20 July 2011 and in force since 1 March 2012.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the wet glass fiber mat (hereinafter referred to as the wet felt) classification and code, specifications, requirements, test methods, inspection regulations Then, signs, packaging, transport and storage. This standard applies to chopped glass fiber strands as raw materials in the water dispersible, Beater, dehydration, sizing and drying process manufacturing The glass fiber mat. The glass fiber mat is mainly used as waterproof materials, laminates, plastic flooring, composite materials and other products in the surface layer of reinforcing material Material can also be used for pipe coating and the production of lead-acid battery separators.
