Scope
GB/T 2526-2020 is the English-translated version of 氧化钆.
GB/T 2526-2020 is the Chinese standard for gadolinium oxide. It gives the technical requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the provisions on marking, packaging, transport, storage and quality certificate.
It applies to gadolinium oxide produced by extraction or other methods for making fluorescent materials, optical glass, gadolinium metal and similar products. Rare earth producers, phosphor and glass makers and buyers use it.
Issued on 19 November 2020, it has applied since 1 October 2021, replacing GB/T 2526-2008.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB/T 2526-2008 "Gadolinium Oxide". Compared with GB/T 2526-2008, the main technical changes except for editorial changes Change as follows.
---Added character designation (see 3.1 and 3.2);
---Added grades with a purity not less than Gd2O3-5N5 and grades with a purity not less than Gd2O3-2N5 (see 3.2);
---Modified the non-rare earth impurities and non-rare earth impurities iron (Fe2O3), calcium (CaO) and other assessment indicators in the grade Gd2O3-3N5 (see 3.2, 3.1 of the 2008 edition);
---Modified the assessment indicators of non-rare earth impurities iron (Fe2O3), silicon (SiO2), calcium (CaO), etc. in the grade Gd2O3-3N (see 3.2, 3.1 of the 2008 edition);
---Modified the assessment indicators of non-rare earth impurity calcium (CaO) in the grade Gd2O3-4N (see 3.2, 3.1 in the 2008 edition);
---Modified the assessment indicators of non-rare earth impurities silicon (SiO2), nickel (NiO) and aluminum (Al2O3) in the grade Gd2O3-5N (see 3.2, 3.1 of the 2008 edition);
---Added the assessment index and calculation method of the main rare earth element gadolinium (Gd2O3) (see 3.2);
--- Modified the expression of rare earth impurities and deleted the denominator REO (see 3.2, 3.1 in the 2008 edition);
---The burning loss index is modified as the combined amount index of moisture and burning loss (see 3.2, 3.1 in the 2008 edition);
---Added the note that all tests are the state before burning after removing water (see 3.2);
---Revised the analysis method of the total content of rare earth (REO) (see 4.1.1, 4.1 in the 2008 edition);
---The calculation method of the relative purity of the main rare earth elements (Gd2O3/REO) has been added (see 4.1.4);
---Added the requirements for determining the appearance inspection results (see 5.5.2).
1 Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage and quality certificates of gadolinium oxide.
This standard applies to gadolinium oxide produced by extraction or other methods for the production of fluorescent materials, optical glass, metal gadolinium, etc.

3 Technical requirements
3.1 Product Classification
Products are divided into Gd2O3-5N5, Gd2O3-5N, Gd2O3-4N5, Gd2O3-4N, Gd2O3-3N5, Gd2O3-3N, There are seven grades of Gd2O3-2N5, and the method of expressing product grades should conform to the regulations of GB/T 17803.
3.2 Chemical composition
The chemical composition of the product should meet the requirements of Table 1. If the buyer has special requirements, the supplier and the buyer can negotiate separately.
