Scope
GB/T 24983-2010 is the English-translated version of 船用环保阻燃地毯.
GB/T 24983-2010 covers environmental and fire resisting carpet for marine equipment, which the draft calls marine flame retardant carpet.
Clause 1 states that the standard specifies the product classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of this carpet, and that it applies to marine environmental protection flame retardant carpets woven from wool, wool polyamide (nylon) or other fibre pile raw materials and given a flame-retardant treatment, while carpets made by other manufacturing processes may refer to it.
Clause 3, "Product Categories", divides the carpet by weaving method into marine flame retardant Axminster carpet, marine environmental protection flame retardant Wilton carpet and other marine flame retardant carpet.
Clause 4, "Requirements", covers intrinsic quality and appearance quality, both referred to GB/T 14252, and flame retardant properties, whose technical requirements are set in Table 1 as CHF not less than 7.0 kW/m2, Qsb not less than 0.25 MJ/m2, Qt not more than 2.0 MJ and Qp not more than 10.0 kW.
Clause 2 cites GB/T 14252, ISO 5659-2, ISO/TR 9122, IMO FTPC Part 2 and Part 5, IMO A653 (16) and IMO Resolution MSC61 (67) 1996.
The foreword states that the standard was developed mainly on the basis of those IMO documents, and that it was drafted by Changzhou Globe Carpet Manufacture Co., Ltd and the Professional Committee of the carpet of the China Arts and Crafts Association, with three further units taking part.
The draft on the page breaks off inside clause 4, so the test methods, inspection rules and the marking, packaging, transport and storage clauses are not shown. It was issued on 2010-08-09 and has applied since 2010-12-01.
