Scope

GB/T 23936-2018 is the English-translated version of 工业氟硅酸钠.

GB/T 23936-2018 covers industrial sodium hexafluorosilicate (Na2SiF6, relative molecular mass 188.07), used as a raw material for fluorine chemical products and also as an enamel flux, in glass emulsification, as a coagulant for acid-resistant cement and concrete, and as a wood preservative.

It divides the product into type I (dry), a white powder, and type II (semi-dry), a white crystal, and specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, labelling, packaging, transport and storage.

The product is a toxic substance under GB 12268-2012. Compared with the 2009 edition it introduces the two types, drops the qualified grade and the fineness indicator, revises the sulfate and phosphorus pentoxide indicators and adds a heavy metals indicator.

It replaces GB 23936-2009, was issued on 7 June 2018 and has applied since 1 January 2019.

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This standard replaces GB/T 23936-2009 "Industrial sodium fluorosilicate", compared with GB/T 23936-2009, except editorial modification The technical changes are as follows.

--- Typed (see Chapter 4);

---Delete the "Qualified Goods" level (see 4.2 of the 2009 edition);

--- Modified sulfate (as SO4), phosphorus pentoxide (P2O5) indicators (see 5.2, 2009 edition 4.2);

--- Remove the fineness (through the 250µm test sieve) indicators (see 4.2 of the 2009 edition);

--- Increase the indicator of heavy metals (see 5.2).

Warning

According to the provisions of Chapter 6 of GB 12268-2012, this product belongs to the toxic substance of item 6.1. When contacting, it should be safe.
