Scope
GB/T 23265-2023 is the English-translated version of 水泥混凝土和砂浆用短切玄武岩纤维.
GB/T 23265-2023 is the Chinese national standard for chopped basalt fibre used in cement concrete and mortar. It sets the classification and marking, general requirements, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and the marking, delivery, packaging, transportation and storage.
Fibres are classified as strand, code S, or plied yarn, code T, and the requirements cover appearance quality, dimensional deviation and the performance indexes of the fibre and of the concrete and mortar it is mixed into.
Normative annexes give the test methods for breaking and tensile strength of plied yarn and of strand, for elastic modulus and elongation at break, for the alkali-resistant tensile stress retention rate and for bending toughness.
It cites seven standards, among them GB 175, GB/T 14684 and GB/T 7690.5-2013. It replaces GB/T 23265-2009, was issued on 23 May 2023 and has applied since 1 December 2023.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this Document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 18374 and the following apply.
3.1 Chopped basalt fiber
The basalt fiber is cut into a certain length by a cutter so that it can be inorganic mineral fiber that is evenly dispersed in cement concrete or mortar.
3.2 Nominal diameter
It is used to indicate the diameter of basalt fiber monofilament in basalt fiber products.
3.3 Strand
A bundle of slightly bonded filaments drawn at the same time.
3.4 Plied yarn
Fibers that are made by plying two or more strands.
3.5 Moisture content
The moisture content of the strand or plied yarn measured under specified conditions, that is, the ratio of the difference between the wet mass and the dry mass of the specimen o the wet mass.
4 Classification and Labeling
4.1 Classification of product
4.1.1 Chopped basalt fibers are classified into strand (code S) and plied yarn (code T) according to their fiber types.
4.2 Specifications and dimensions
4.2.1 The specifications and dimensions of chopped basalt fibers shall comply with the provisions of Table 1.
4.2.2 Chopped basalt fibers of other specifications and dimensions can be produced upon negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser.
5 General Requirements
