An elongated body, the front portion of the cylindrical rear section slightly flat side, tapering tail. Swollen head, snout, lower jaw slightly shorter than the upper jaw. Eye small, transparent skin

Slightly concave. No pectoral and pelvic fins, dorsal, anal and caudal fins are degraded, the only obvious skinfold.

Body brown, irregular surface covered with many black spots, white belly, body color often varies with the dwelling environment.
