Foreword
GB/T 22638 Test methods for aluminium and aluminium alloy foils is divided into 10 parts.
-- Part 1: Determination of thickness;
-- Part 2: Determination of pinhole;
-- Part 3: Determination of stickiness;
-- Part 4: Determination of surface wetting tension;
-- Part 5: Determination of wettability;
-- Part 6: Determination of direct current resistance;
-- Part 7: Determination of heat seal strength;
-- Part 8: Determination of cube texture content;
-- Part 9: Determination of hydrophilic property;
-- Part 10: Determination of mass per unit area (surface density) of coatings.
This part is Part 5 of GB/T 22638.
This part was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This part replaces GB/T 22638.5-2008 Test methods for aluminium and aluminium alloy foils - Part 5: Determination of wettability by brushing. Compared with GB/T 22638.5-2008, the main technical changes are as follows.
-- The standard title has been changed to "Test methods for aluminum and aluminum alloy foils - Part 5: Determination of wettability".
-- Two new wettability testing methods, "spraying method" and "dropping method", have been added.
-- The thickness of the outer layer of the foil roll to be removed before inspection has been changed to 3 mm.
-- The requirement that "if wettability testing is performed directly on the foil roll, the test solution shall be prevented from contaminating the end face of the foil roll" has been added. Test methods for aluminum and aluminum alloy foils - Part
1 Scope
This part of GB/T 22638 specifies the test method for the wettability of aluminum foil.
This part applies to the testing of the surface wettability of aluminum foil after annealing.
The wiping method in this part is the arbitration method for testing the wettability of aluminum foil.
2 Method principle
This method utilizes the principle that different liquids have different wettability on a specified material surface. Different ratios of test solutions are used to test the surface of aluminum foil to determine its wettability.
3 Reagents and materials
3.1 Anhydrous ethanol, analytical grade.
3.2 Distilled water.
3.3 Absorbent cotton.
3.4 Tweezers.
3.5 Spray bottle.
3.6 Dropper.
3.7 Test solutions. Take anhydrous ethanol (3.1) and distilled water (3.2) and prepare the corresponding test solutions according to Table 1.
4 Test conditions
The test shall be conducted at room temperature; the temperature of the foil roll shall not exceed 5°C above room temperature.
5 Sampling
5.1 Remove at least 3 mm of the outer layer thickness of the foil roll before inspection.
5.2 For double-sided aluminum foil, the dark side should preferably be selected as the inspection surface.
6 Wiping method
6.1 Use tweezers to pick up an absorbent cotton ball soaked in the prepared test solution (3.7) and wipe along the width of the aluminum foil, as shown in Figure 1. The contact width between the absorbent cotton ball and the sample surface should be no less than 20 mm. Observe the shrinkage of the test solution on the aluminum foil surface. […]
