Scope
GB/T 22522-2021 is the English-translated version of 测量螺纹用米制系列量针.
GB/T 22522-2021 fixes the metric series of measuring wires used to check screw threads. It gives the types and the sizes, the requirements - the diameter and its tolerance, the roundness, the hardness and the surface finish - the conditions and methods of inspection and the marking and packaging.
It applies to the wires used to measure the pitch diameter of metric threads, unified threads, 55° pipe threads and trapezoidal threads. Gauge makers and metrology rooms use it.
It replaces GB/T 22522-2008, was issued on 31 December 2021 and has applied since 1 July 2022.

Foreword
This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1. Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" drafted.
This document replaces GB/T 22522-2008 "Three Needles for Thread Measurement". Compared with GB/T 22522-2008, except for structural adjustment and editing In addition to the editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:
a) The basic parameters of the measuring needle are deleted (see 4.2 of the:2008 edition);
b) Changed the hardness requirements of the measuring surface of the measuring needle (see 5.2, 5.1 of the:2008 edition);
c) Added the requirements for accuracy level 2 (see 5.3);
d) The inspection conditions and methods for measuring needles are added (see Chapter 6);
e) The requirements of the number of this document should be marked on the packing box with the measuring needle (see 7.2).
1 Scope
This document specifies the type and size, requirements, inspection conditions and methods, marking and packaging of metric series measuring needles for measuring threads.
This document is suitable for detecting common thread (M), unified thread (UN), 55° pipe thread (G, R), Metric series measuring needles (hereinafter referred to as "measuring needles") are used for measuring the pitch diameter of trapezoidal threads (Tr).

3 Terms and Definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 14791-2013, GB/T 17163, GB/T 17164 and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Measuring wire
A cylindrical working face with accurate dimensions, a physical measuring tool for indirect detection of workpieces such as threads.
4 Types and Dimensions
4.1 Type I measuring needle
The type and size of the type I measuring needle are shown in Figure 1. The diagrams are for illustration only and do not represent the detailed structure. in millimeters
