1 Scope

GB/T 22330.8-2026 is the Chinese national standard covering a contagious bovine pleuropneumonia free zone - a mycoplasma disease eradicated from China decades ago, where the standard is about proving and keeping a freedom already achieved. The standard fixes the surveillance required and its duration, the boundary and movement controls, the emergency response and the evidence on which recognition of freedom rests - the basis on which animals and animal products from the zone can be exported. It replaces GB/T 22330.8-2008 and has been in force since 1 September 2026, one of the parts of the GB/T 22330 series revised together. It was issued on 27 February 2026 and has been in force since 1 September 2026, replacing GB/T 22330.8-2008. The document is under the responsibility of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. This document specifies the basic requirements, introduction requirements, and monitoring requirements for establishing bovine infectious pleuropneumonia-free zones, as well as the requirements for bovine infectious pleuropneumonia-free zones. Conditions for suspending and resuming operations in pneumonia-affected areas, etc. This document applies to the establishment and restoration of bovine infectious pleuropneumonia-free zones.

4 Bovine infectious pleuropneumonia pathogen infection

The presence of any of the following conditions is considered an infection with bovine contagious pleuropneumonia.

a) Mycoplasma filamentosa subspecies was isolated and identified from bovine samples;

b) The presence of pathological changes associated with bovine contagious pleuropneumonia, or an epidemiological link to confirmed or suspected cases of bovine contagious pleuropneumonia. Nucleic acid from Mycoplasma filamentosa subsp. was detected in bovine samples;

c) The presence of pathological changes associated with bovine contagious pleuropneumonia, or an epidemiological link to confirmed or suspected cases of bovine contagious pleuropneumonia. Antibodies against Mycoplasma filamentosa subsp., which are not caused by immune responses, were detected in bovine samples.

5.Incubation period The incubation period for bovine contagious pleuropneumonia is 6 months.

6 Basic Requirements

6.1 Comply with the provisions of GB/T 22330.1 regarding the basic conditions for establishing disease-free zones for animals.

6.2 Based on risk, protected areas may be established between neighboring countries or regions experiencing outbreaks of bovine contagious pleuropneumonia, or areas with artificial barriers or geographical features. A barrier to prevent the introduction of bovine infectious pleuropneumonia.

6.3 In the past 24 months, no susceptible animals in the region have been vaccinated against bovine contagious pleuropneumonia, and no susceptible animals have been introduced.

6.4 No outbreaks of bovine contagious pleuropneumonia have occurred in the region in the past 24 months.

6.5 Monitoring has shown that no bovine contagious pleuropneumonia pathogen infection has been found in the region in the past 24 months.

8 Monitoring Requirements

8.1 Comply with the relevant provisions of GB/T 22330.1 regarding the monitoring of disease-free zones for animals.

8.2 Develop and implement a surveillance program (plan) for bovine contagious pleuropneumonia to promptly detect bovine contagious pleuropneumonia pathogen infection. Surveillance plan The plan should at least include the monitoring subject, scope, frequency, method, sampling method, diagnostic and testing methods, and result determination.

8.3 The testing and diagnostic methods shall comply with the relevant requirements of GB/T 18649.

9 Suspension and resumption of bovine infectious pleuropneumonia-free zones

9.1 When an outbreak of bovine contagious pleuropneumonia occurs in a bovine contagious pleuropneumonia-free area, the disease-free status of that area is temporarily suspended. Stop, and implement epidemic control measures and culling policies.

9.2 If, after the last infected cattle are culled, monitoring confirms that no bovine contagious pleuropneumonia pathogen infection is detected within 12 months, an application can be made to reinstate the status of the infected cattle.
