3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 spore

The reproductive body of a fungus.

Note. There are various types, including conidia, budspores, and chlamydospores.

3.2 Conidia

Colorless or colored spores produced by conidiophore cells (terminal/lateral, chain/clustered, various shapes and sizes, unicellular/multicellular)

Asexually reproducing cells.

Note. This is the most common spore type in fungal pesticides.

3.3 microbial density

The number of live bacterial colonies in a unit mass or volume of fungal pesticides.

3.4 sporecontent;sporeconcentration

The number of fungal spores, the active ingredient in fungal pesticides, per unit mass or volume.
