This part is Part 19 of GB/T 20975.

This section was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This section replaces GB/T 20975.19-2008 "Methods for Chemical Analysis of Aluminum and Aluminum Alloy Part 19: Determination of Zirconium Content". versus Compared with GB/T 20975.19-2008, in addition to editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

---Added standard use safety warning;

---Modified the determination range of the xylenol orange spectrophotometric method from 0.040%~0.50% to 0.010%~1.00% (see section Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the 2008 edition);

--- Added "Normative Reference Documents" (see Chapter 2);

--- Added "Terms and Definitions" (see Chapter 3);

---Added requirements for reagents and water used in analysis (see 4.2 and 5.2);

---Modified the precision of the xylenol orange spectrophotometric method (see 4.7, Chapter 8 of the 2008 edition);

--- Deleted the "arsenazo III spectrophotometric method" (see the 2008 edition of the method arsenazo III spectrophotometric method);

--- Added "Na2EDTA Titration" (see Chapter 5);

--- Added "Test Report" (see Chapter 6).

1 Scope

4.1 Method summary

The sample is dissolved in hydrochloric acid and hydrogen peroxide, in the perchloric acid medium, after adding xylenol orange for color development, the wavelength is 535.0nm in the spectrophotometer At the place, measure its absorbance to determine the zirconium content.

4.2 Reagents

Unless otherwise stated, only reagents and laboratory secondary water confirmed to be analytically pure are used in the analysis.

4.2.1 Pure aluminum (wAl>=99.99%, wZr<=0.0010%).

4.2.2 Hydrochloric acid (rho=1.19g/mL).

4.2.3 Hydrogen peroxide (rho=1.10g/mL).

4.2.4 Hydrochloric acid (11).

4.2.5 Perchloric acid [c(HClO4)=6.5mol/L]. Pipette 275mL perchloric acid (70.0%~72.0%), dilute with water to 500mL, Mix well (calibrate if necessary).

4.2.6 Xylenol orange solution (1g/L), stored in a brown bottle, filtered if necessary.
