Scope

GB/T 20927-2026 is the English-translated version of 回收钛原料.

GB/T 20927-2026 is a standard for recycled titanium raw material, meaning titanium and titanium alloy scrap that has been sorted and recovered. It covers classification and labelling, requirements, test methods and inspection rules, along with accompanying documents and order details.

Product classification separates block-shaped material by its cross-sectional dimension, and there is also a category for machining chips. It applies to titanium and titanium alloy raw materials that have been preliminarily sorted and recycled.

This edition changed the terms and definitions, the classification and labelling, and the chemical composition requirements. Issued on 2 July 2026 and applicable from 1 February 2027, it replaces GB/T 20927-2007.

Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".

This document replaces GB/T 20927-2007 "Titanium and Titanium Alloy Waste". Compared with GB/T 20927-2007, the main differences are structural adjustments and revisions.

Aside from the logical changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

a) The terminology and definitions have been changed (see Chapter 3, Chapter 3 of the 2007 edition);

b) The classification and labeling have been changed (see Chapter 4, Chapter 4 of the 2007 edition);

c) The chemical composition requirements have been changed (see 5.1, 5.2 in the 2007 edition);

d) Appearance quality has been changed (see 5.2, 5.3 and 5.7 in the 2007 version);

e) Metallurgical quality was changed (see 5.3, 5.4 in the 2007 edition);

g) The inspection rules have been changed (see Chapter 7, Chapter 7 of the 2007 edition);

h) Changes were made to the markings, packaging, transport, storage, and accompanying documentation (see Chapter 8, Chapter 8 of the 2007 edition);
