This part, together with other parts of GB/T 20764, is applicable to the traceability of gas/water supply polyethylene piping system welding equipment. The compiled code is recognized and read by letters or numbers, such as bar codes. This section also applies to polyethylene gas/water supply piping system pipes, fittings and valves, as well as the welding of their assemblies. For example. make Hot-melt butt connection, hot-melt socket connection or hot-melt saddle connection, electrofusion connection (socket and saddle), induction welding and mechanical connection with welding tools.

This part is Part 4 of GB/T 20674.
This section was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This part uses the redrafting law to amend and adopt ISO 12176-4.2003 "Plastic pipes and pipe fittings polyethylene system welding equipment"
Part 4.Traceability Code.
Compared with ISO 12176-4.2003, this part has many adjustments in structure. This part and ISO 12176-4 are listed in Appendix A.
