Foreword

GB/T 18838 "steel substrates before application of paints and metallic blast - cleaning abrasives" is divided into the following five sections.

--- Part 1. introduction and classification;

--- Part 2. chilled cast iron sand;

--- Part 3. high carbon steel shot and grit;

--- Part 4. Low-carbon steel pill;

--- Part 5. Steel cut wire shot. This section GB/T 18838 Part 5: This section drafted in accordance with GB/T 1.1-2009 given rules.

1 Scope

GB/T 18838 provisions of this part of the 13 kinds of specification-grade steel cut wire shot blast cleaning with the technical requirements, including hardness, density Degree, defects, microstructure and chemical composition.

This section applies to cold-drawn steel wire made for cutting steel cut wire shot blast cleaning use.

The requirements of this provision apply only to non abrasive used, does not apply to used abrasive.

Test methods for metallic blast - cleaning abrasives - see GB/T 19816 of the various parts.

Steel cut wire shot abrasives are recyclable and reusable, it can be used both for fixed-site injection device.

Note 1. The usual relationship of domestic and foreign steel cut wire shot reference standards in this section in Appendix A.

Note 2. Although this part of GB/T 18838 is surface-treated steel to meet the requirements of the development, but also applies to other blast - cleaning process Surface or part of the material.
