Scope
GB/T 17936-2022 is the English-translated version of 卡口灯座.
GB/T 17936-2022 governs B15d and B22d bayonet lampholders used to connect lamps and semi-luminaires to a supply voltage of 250 V. It also reaches lampholders integrated in a luminaire or built into equipment, though only for the requirements that fall on the lampholder itself; for everything else, such as protection against electric shock around the terminals, the standard of the relevant appliance applies and the lampholder is tested together with the device it is mounted in. B15d and B22d are the cap and holder fitting systems laid down by the IEC 60061-1 and IEC 60061-2 data sheets and the matching gauges. Twenty-one clauses cover the general and the general test requirements, standard ratings, classification, marking, dimensions, protection against electric shock, terminals, earthing provisions, construction, switched lampholders, moisture resistance with insulation resistance and electric strength, mechanical strength, screws with current-carrying parts and connections, creepage distances and clearances, general resistance to heat, resistance to heat, fire and tracking, and protection against excessive residual stress, that is season cracking, and against rusting. A normative annex gives the season cracking and corrosion test. Identical to IEC 61184:2017, it was issued on 15 April 2022 and took effect on 1 November 2022.

1 Scope
This document applies to B15d and B22d bayonet lampholders used to connect lamps and semi-luminaires to a supply voltage of 250 V.
This document also applies to lampholders integrated in a luminaire or intended to be mounted inside equipment, but it covers only the requirements that fall on the lampholder itself.
For all the other requirements, such as protection against electric shock in the area of the terminals, the requirements of the standard of the relevant appliance apply; the lampholder is first mounted in a suitable device and is tested at the same time as that device is examined against its own standard. Lampholders supplied to luminaire manufacturers are not sold at retail.
The maximum operating temperature of a lampholder used in a luminaire is given in IEC 60598-1.
B15d denotes the lamp cap and lampholder fitting system laid down by sheet 7004-11 of IEC 60061-1 and sheet 7005-16 of IEC 60061-2 and by the corresponding gauges.
B22d denotes the lamp cap and lampholder fitting system laid down by sheet 7004-10 of IEC 60061-1 and sheet 7005-10 of IEC 60061-2 and by the corresponding gauges.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document. For standardized use, ISO and IEC keep terminology databases at http://www.electropedia.org/ and http://www.iso.org/obp.
3.1 materials.
3.1.1 plastic lampholder - A lampholder whose enclosure is made entirely of plastic material. Note: the enclosure of the lampholder means all the parts that the test finger shown in GB/T 4208-2017 can touch directly when the lampholder is connected to the supply cord and mounted in the test arrangement of Figure 7.
3.1.2 ceramic lampholder - A lampholder whose enclosure is made entirely of ceramic material. Note: see the note to 3.1.1.
3.1.3 metal lampholder - A lampholder whose enclosure is made wholly or partly of metal. Note: see the note to 3.1.1.
3.2 means of fixing.
3.2.1 cord grip lampholder - A lampholder fitted with a device able to grip the flexible cord, by means of which the lampholder can be suspended. See Figure 4a).
3.2.2 threaded entry lampholder - A lampholder with a threaded part at the supply cord entry so that it can be mounted on a support carrying a matching thread. Note: a threaded entry lampholder was formerly called a screw-socket lampholder. See Figure 4b).
3.2.3 backplate lampholder - A lampholder that can be mounted directly on a supporting surface or on a suitable enclosure by means of a composite base or an integral base. See Figure 4c).
3.3 terminal/contact assembly - The part or sub-assembly that establishes the connection between the end of the supply conductor and the contact of the lamp cap, and that is resilient so as to keep the contact pressure. Note 1: movable type, the terminal can rise parallel to the axis of the lamp when the lamp cap is inserted into the lampholder. Note 2: fixed type, the terminal cannot rise when the lamp cap is inserted into the lampholder. Note 3: the terminal and the barrel connection can be the same part. See Figure 4.
3.4 union ring - A cylindrical part that holds together the separate external parts of the lampholder. See Figure 4.
3.5 shade ring - An annular part carrying an internal thread or another device that engages a matching support on the lampholder enclosure, used to hold a shade. See Figure 4.
3.6 skirt - A cylindrical part similar to a shade ring but whose length is greater than the overall length of the lampholder body. Note: it applies only to plastic lampholders. See Figure 4.
3.6.1 protective shield - A part similar to a skirt but with a flared, trumpet-shaped end, so as to prevent accidental contact between the user and the lamp cap. Note: it applies only to plastic lampholders. See Figure 9.
3.7 dome - The part of a cord grip lampholder or of a threaded entry lampholder that protects the terminals.
