1 Scope

GB/T 17924-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering how a geographical indication standard is written - the definition of the area and why it matters, the varieties or breeds, the production method that must be followed there, and the characteristics that distinguish the product. It is the template behind the Moutai, Panyong tea and Hanyuan pepper standards published this year. It replaces GB/T 17924-2008. 4 General Requirements
