This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part
1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document replaces GB/T 17237-2008 "General Technical Conditions for Livestock Slaughtering and Processing". Compared with GB/T 17237-2008, except for the following. Aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:
---Terms and definitions such as "acceptance room," "isolation room," and "slaughter room" have been removed (see Chapter 3 of the.2008 edition);
---Added terms and definitions for "livestock and poultry slaughtering technicians" and "veterinary hygiene inspection personnel" (see Chapter 3);
---The location of the slaughterhouse has been changed (see Chapter 4, Chapter 4 of the.2008 edition);
---The requirements for livestock slaughterhouses have been revised (see Chapter 5, Chapter 5 of the.2008 edition);
---Added requirements for facilities and equipment (see Chapter 6);
---Personnel requirements have been added (see Chapter 7);

This document specifies the basic technical requirements for the site selection, factory environment, factory buildings and workshops, facilities and equipment, and personnel of livestock and poultry slaughtering enterprises. This document applies to slaughtering enterprises of pigs, cattle, sheep, chickens, ducks, and geese. Other livestock and poultry slaughtering enterprises should refer to this document for implementation.

3 Terms and Definitions
The terms and definitions defined in NY/T 3224 and NY/T 4444, as well as the following terms and definitions, apply to this document.
3.1 Within livestock and poultry slaughtering and processing enterprises, those engaged in slaughtering operations, primary processing of by-products, cold storage operations, harmless treatment, cleaning and disinfection, and equipment maintenance. personnel.
3.2 In accordance with relevant national laws, regulations, standards, and procedures, we conduct quality inspections on slaughtered livestock and poultry and their products, and assist in the implementation of quarantine work. The personnel.
4 Site selection and factory environment
4.1 The site selection of livestock and poultry slaughtering enterprises should comply with the development plan of the livestock and poultry slaughtering industry and the requirements of animal disease prevention.
4.2 The plant area should have a water and power source that meets the requirements, and there should be a sewage discharge network or a final receiving water body that is allowed to be discharged into the plant area.
4.3 The factory area should have good environmental sanitation conditions, be far away from industrial enterprises or other places that generate pollution sources, and be far away from polluted water bodies. And places where pests easily breed.
4.4 The factory area should be surrounded by isolation facilities such as walls, and the main roads in the factory area should be hardened, with smooth surfaces that are easy to wash and do not accumulate water.
4.5 The factory area should be divided into production area and non-production area, and there should be clear separation between the two.
4.6 Live livestock and poultry, waste transportation and finished product delivery should not share the same gate, and passageways within the site should not be shared.
