Scope
GB/T 15575-2008 is the English-translated version of 钢产品标记代号.
China's national system of designation codes for steel products - the short letter codes by which a steel product is described in an order, on a mill certificate, on a label and in a stock record. It specifies the codes for the processing method, the cross-sectional shape, the dimensional accuracy, the surface condition, the surface treatment, the delivery state and the other attributes by which one steel product is distinguished from another of the same grade. A steel grade alone does not identify a product. The same grade is delivered hot-rolled or cold-rolled, as plate or coil or bar or section, in one accuracy class or another, pickled or oiled or coated or bare, annealed or as-rolled - and each of those differences changes the price, the lead time and whether the material is usable for the intended part. Written out in words the description is long, ambiguous between one mill and another, and unusable in a database field. The standard reduces it to a compact code and fixes what each letter means. The 2008 edition, which replaces GB/T 15575-1995, separates codes that the 1995 edition had merged: forging, hot expansion, hot pressing and cold extrusion are given their own designators rather than being lumped with hot or cold rolling, and welding is added. Round and square bar are added to the cross-sectional shapes. The heat-treatment designator T and the mechanical-property codes are removed, the dimensional accuracy marking is changed, coating is added to the surface types and the plating code revised, oiling and anti-fingerprint treatment are added to the surface treatments, and three extra-deep-drawing classes are added to the stamping performance codes. Issued on 13 May 2008 and in force since 1 November 2008.

Foreword
This standard replaces GB/T 15575-1995 "steel products labeled Code." This standard compared with GB/T 15575-1995 standards, the main changes are as follows:
--- Will be in "processing methods", "hot-rolled", "forging", "thermal expansion", "hot pressing" and "cold-rolled" cold extrusion individually labeled, and increase The "welding" of the standard designation;
--- In the "cross-sectional shape and the symbol" added "round", "square steel" and other standard designation example;
--- Remove the "heat treatment type" designator letter T;
--- Remove the "mechanical properties" code;
--- Modify the "dimensional accuracy" marking methods;
--- In "Surface Type" increased "coating" tag code, and modify the "plating" standard designation;
--- In the "surface treatment" added "oiled", "anti-fingerprint treatment" standard designation;
--- In the "stamping performance," added the "special deep leveling", "ultra-deep leveling" and "Super-deep leveling";
--- Remove the "general purpose", "important use", "special purpose" and "other use" code. Appendix A of this standard is an informative annex. The standard proposed by China Iron and Steel Association. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Steel Standardization Technical Committee. This standard was drafted. Metallurgical Industry Information Standards Institute. The main drafters of this standard. Liu gem, wear strong, Luan Yan. This standard was first released in June 1995. This standard specifies the steel product mark code representation and common markup code. This standard applies to bars, flat steel, steel pipes, wire rod and other products labeled Code. Category
2 Steel products labeled code as follows:
2.12 Processing Method
3 steel products labeled code representation
3.1 steel products labeled with the category name code using the corresponding English name of the first letters (uppercase) and (or) a combination of Arabic numerals indicate.
3.1.1 steel products by the standard designation indicates the type and characteristics of the two parts of the tag code components. For example. Trimming strip standard designation EC. E
--- Representative category is marginalized; C
--- representative feature of trimming.
3.1.2 can be represented using Arabic numerals as product features standard designation. For example. Low Chilled strip marking codes H1/4. H
--- Representative category sclerosis; 1/4
--- Representative characterized by low chill.
3.1.3 Under customary and versatility, can be internationally accepted standard designation. For example, hot usable AR said control available CR rolling table Shown, normalized rolled + N can be expressed, thermo-mechanical controlled rolling (TMCP) M may be represented. Standard designation according to the above method does not provide a standard
3.2 be prescribed.
