Scope

GB/T 15255-2015 is the English-translated version of 硫化橡胶 人工气候老化试验方法 碳弧灯.

GB/T 15255-2015 lays down a laboratory artificial weathering test for vulcanized rubber in which a carbon-arc lamp serves as the light source, simulating and intensifying the main natural-climate ageing factors of light, heat, air, temperature, humidity and rainfall.

Clause 1 states that the method applies to assessing the weather resistance of vulcanized rubber under carbon-arc-lamp exposure conditions, and the standard opens with a warning that it does not point out every possible safety problem, so users remain responsible for adopting suitable safety and health practices and for complying with the relevant national regulations.

The test principle in clause 3 is to expose the rubber to the carbon-arc ageing environment and to compare the properties measured before and after ageing in order to rate its weather resistance.

Clause 4, on test apparatus, describes a test chamber with the lamp at its centre and a rotating drum carrying the specimens, fitted with controls and indicators for carbon-arc current and voltage, timing and wet- and dry-bulb temperature, plus circulating air conditioning used to adjust the black-panel temperature and to discharge ozone from the chamber, with plate specimens either placed directly on the drum or held vertically or at an incline in a fixed holder, and the chamber able to run a programmed cycle of exposure conditions.

The same clause covers the open carbon-arc lamp, formed between two copper-surfaced carbon rod electrodes with automatic arc adjustment, and caps the irradiance reaching the specimen surface through the plate-glass filter at 600 W/m2 over the 300 nm to 750 nm band and at 2 W/m2 below 300 nm.

Further provisions recorded in the foreword concern cleaning of the filters, the specimen holder and the black-panel thermometer, the humidity control device and the water-spray system with its water-quality requirements, and the assessment of changes in specimen appearance in clause 6.

It cites GB/T 528, GB/T 2941 and GB/T 3511, falls under ICS 83.060 and Chinese standard class G40, and was drafted by Guangzhou Institute of Materials Co., Ltd. and the Beijing Rubber Industry Research and Design Institute under SAC/TC35/SC2.

It replaces GB/T 15255-1994, was issued on 2015-05-15 and has applied since 2015-10-01.

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with GB/T 1.1-2009 given rules.

This standard replaces GB/T 15255-1994 "vulcanized rubber artificial weathering (carbon arc lamp) test method", and GB/T 15255- The main technical changes compared to 1994 are as follows.

--- Normative references revised. Removed GB/T 7762, which was added to the reference; deleted GB 9865; deleted

GB/T 11189.2 and GB/T 12831;

--- Increasing the drum rotates, the drum and the drum samples in the form of fixed description (see 4.1);

--- Increased carbon arc lamp list of device types and operating conditions list (see 4.2.2 and 5.1);

--- Increased cleaning filter description (see 4.3);

--- The GB/T 12831 in the sample holder and blackboard thermometer provisions added to this standard (see 4.4, 4.5);

--- Increased humidity controlled device and a sprinkler system, and adjust the position of the water quality requirements (see 46, 47, 1994 Version 5.4.);

--- The GB/T 12831 in the provisions regarding determination of changes in the appearance of the sample was added to this standard (see 6.4);

--- Will be adjusted to the corresponding section of the suspension bar (see 73, 1994. Version 7.3.);

--- Increased by reference. The standard proposed by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the carbon arc lamp as the light source analog and strengthen the natural climate of light, heat, air, temperature, humidity and rainfall mainly due to An artificial climate aging hormone test methods.

This standard applies to the assessment of weather-resistant vulcanized rubber in a carbon arc lamp as the light source of the test conditions.

2 Normative references

The following documents for the application of this document is essential. For dated references, only the dated version suitable for use herein Member. For undated references, the latest edition (including any amendments) applies to this document.

GB/T 528 Determination of vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber tensile stress-strain properties

GB/T 2941 rubber physical test method for preparing and conditioning General Procedure

GB/T 3511 vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber weather resistance

3 Test principle

Vulcanized rubber is placed in a carbon arc lamp light source to simulate natural climate and strengthen the aging factors in the environment, the measurement sample before and after aging Changes in performance to evaluate weather resistance of the vulcanized rubber.

4 Test device

4.1 Test Chamber

Center chamber installed a carbon arc lamp, placed the box on a sample holder of the drum, the drum is rotated around the light source. Electric carbon arc provided on the housing Flow, carbon arc voltage, timers, and wet and dry bulb temperature indicating devices, control cabinets have a circulating air conditioner, used to adjust the temperature of the blackboard And discharge of tank ozone.

Plate specimens can be placed directly on a drum or placed with a fixed sample test stand, shaped to form a vertical or inclined form.

Case should be able to be prepared within the operating range of cycle exposure control means the conditions of the program.

4.2 A carbon arc lamp

4.2.1 Open carbon arc lamp

Two carbon rod electrodes open carbon arc lamp comprises a surface of copper, carbon arc formed between the electrodes can be automatically adjusted.

Carbon arc irradiation through a plate glass filter to the surface of the sample 300nm ~ 750nm wavelength of light irradiance can not be greater than 600W/m2, Less than 300nm wavelength of light irradiance can not exceed 2W/m2.
