1 Scope

GB/T 15105-2024 is the Chinese national standard on molding products from wood particles, in the field of wood technology. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 15 March 2024 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 October 2024. This document specifies the classification, requirements, inspection rules and labeling, packaging, transportation, storage of molding products from wood particles; describes the corresponding inspection methods. This document is applicable to the production, circulation, trade, and inspection of flat- pressed molding products from wood particles. This document does not apply to molded pallets.

3 Terms and definitions

The terms and definitions as defined in GB/T 18259-2018, as well as the following terms and definitions, apply to this document.

3.1 Molding products from wood particles Products formed by using a mold to press the wood particles or scraps mixed with adhesives, with or without a decorative layer on the surface.

4 Classification

4.1 Classified by whether there is a decorative layer on the surface: - Molding products from wood particles with a decorative layer; - Molding products from wood particles without a decorative layer.

4.2 Classified by the decorative materials used: - Impregnated film paper decorative molding products from wood particles; - Decorative veneered molding products from wood particles; - PVC film decorative molding products from wood particles; - Printed paper decorative molding products from wood particles.

4.3 Classified by the place of use: - Indoor molding products from wood particles; - Outdoor molding products from wood particles.

7 Inspection rules

7.1 Inspection classification Product inspection is divided into exit-factory inspection and type inspection.

7.1.1 Exit-factory inspection Exit-factory inspection includes the following items:

a) Appearance quality;

b) Physical and chemical properties: Indoor molding products from wood particles include density, moisture content, internal bonding strength, surface wear resistance; outdoor molding products from wood particles include density, moisture content, internal bonding strength after 2h boiling water, surface wear resistance.

7.1.2 Type inspection Type inspection includes all items in Chapter 5. During normal production, type inspection shall be conducted at least twice a year. Type inspection shall be conducted in any of the following circumstances:

a) Where there are major changes in raw materials and production processes;

b) When production is resumed after a suspension of more than three months;

c) When a new product is put into production or subject to trans-plant production;

d) When the quality supervision department proposes a type inspection requirement.
