YS/T 371 Methods for Chemical Analysis of Precious Metal Alloys and General Provisions

3 method summary

The sample was dissolved with a mixed acid of hydrochloric acid and nitric acid, and the gold was reduced by reduction with sulfurous acid. Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (hereinafter referred to as

ICP-AES) to calculate the mass fraction of zirconium and gallium.

4 Reagents and materials

Unless otherwise indicated, the reagents and materials used in this section should be consistent with the provisions of YS/T 371.

4.1

Argon ((Ar) >=99.95%).

4.2

Hydrochloric acid (rho 1.19 g/mL).

4.3

Nitric acid (rho1.42g/mL).

4.4

hydrochloric acid - nitric acid mixed acid (4 +1), when used with the current.

4.5

Hydrochloric acid (1 + 9).

Sulfuric acid (SO2, content of not less than 6%).

4.7 gallium standard stock solution

Weigh 0.1000g of metal gallium ((Ga) >= 99.95%), placed in a 150mL beaker. Add 10 mL

Hydrochloric acid (4.5), cover the surface of the dish, low temperature heating until dissolved completely. Cool to room temperature, transfer to 100 mL volumetric flask with hydrochloric acid (4.5) and dilute

Release to the mark. Mix well. This solution 1 mL contains 1.000 mg gallium.

4.8 zirconium standard stock solution

4.8.1 Preparation

Weigh 3.532g zirconyl chloride (ZrOCl2 · 8H2O), placed in 250mL beaker, add 50mL hydrochloric acid (4.5),

Dissolved completely into the.200mL volumetric flask, diluted with water to the mark. Mix well. This solution 1 mL contains 5 mg zirconium.

4.8.2 Calibration

Pipette 10.00mL zirconium standard stock solution (4.8.1) in 400mL beaker, add 40mL hydrochloric acid (4.2) and

100mL water, heated to near boiling. Add 50mL of mandelic acid (150g/L) with stirring and stir until the precipitate is precipitated.

90 °C insulation 0.5h. Stand for more than 4h. Slow filter paper filtration. With hot wash solution (per liter of solution containing 20g mandelic acid, 20mL salt

Acid (4.2)) for 7-8 times. The precipitate, together with the filter paper, is placed in a porcelain crucible, which is then ashed, transferred to a high temperature furnace and fired at 1000 ° C for 1 hour. take out crucible. Slightly cold, into the dryer, cooled to room temperature and then weighed. Parallel calibration of three, the difference between the three weighing should not exceed 1.0mg, take

The average.

According to equation (1) calculate the mass concentration of zirconium.

rho0 = (1) […]
