GB/T 15072.19-2008 is the Chinese national standard on test method of precious metal alloys - determination of vanadium and magnesium contents for silver alloys - inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry, in the field of metallurgy. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 31 March 2008 by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 September 2008. Classification: ICS 77.120.99, CCS H68. This page is published from the official record of the standard held by the Chinese standards administration: the identification, the dates, the classification and the issuing body are taken from there. The clause text, the tables and the numeric limits are in the document itself, which is delivered complete in English translation.

3 Method summary
Sample dissolved in nitric acid, hydrochloric acid precipitation of silver chloride formed was isolated by filtration silver, inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (hereinafter Acronym ICP-AES) was measured to calculate the mass fraction of vanadium and magnesium.
4 Reagents and materials
Unless otherwise indicated, this part of the reagents and materials shall comply with the provisions of YS/T 371's.
4.1 Argon ((Ar) >=99.95%).
4.2 hydrochloride (rho1.19g/mL). Nitrate 4.3 (rho1.42g/mL). Hydrochloride 4.4 (1 + 9).
4.5 V stock standard solution. Weigh 0.1000g vanadium ((V) >=99.99%), placed in 200mL beaker, add 5mL hydrochloric acid (4.2), cover the surface of the pan, over low heat until dissolved completely. Cooled to room temperature, moved with hydrochloric acid (4.4) 100mL volumetric flask and dilute to Scale. Mix well. 1mL solution containing 1mg vanadium.
4.6 Magnesium stock standard solution. Weigh 0.3469g magnesium carbonate ((MgCO3) >=99.95%, advance after 1000 °C burning 1h, placed Desiccator, cool to room temperature), placed in 200mL beaker. 5mL of water was added, 3mL hydrochloric acid was added slowly (4.2), covered with a watch glass, Warmed to completely dissolve the reaction to be slowed. Cooled to room temperature, moved with hydrochloric acid (4.4) 100mL volumetric flask and dilute to volume. mix uniform. This solution 1mL 1mg containing magnesium.
