This section GB/T 14733 Part 12, identical with IEC 60050-731 "International Electrotechnical Vocabulary Chapter 731. Fibre letter". Entry terms and IEC 60050-731:1991 consistent.

This part is GB/T 14733.12-1993 "Optical Fiber Communication Telecommunication term" amendment.

This Part replaces GB/T 14733.12-1993 "Terminology for telecommunications fiber optic communications." Section compared with the GB/T 14733.12-1993 main change this as follows.

--- Increased foreword by deleting the additional instructions;

--- Modified 50 synonymous with the term, notes 84 and 36 to define the terms of terminology;

--- An increase of 15 synonymous terms, 12 terms and 10 refused wording term notes;

--- Remove the three synonymous terms, notes two terms;

--- Increasing the symbol index;

--- The preparation of the format has been modified;

--- In addition, with the other part of the standard in this part of the coordination, consequential amendments to the 13 terms and their definitions.

1 Scope

This section provides optical fiber communication related terms and their definitions. Including general concepts, fiber structure and optical properties, especially the spread of Sex, cable, connectors and couplers, a light source and a light detector, terminology and other technical aspects of the measurement system.

This section applies to a range of optical communication technology.

2 Terms and definitions
