Scope

GB/T 46282.1-2025 (Fibre optic wavelength switches - Part 1: Generic specification) is available as an English-translated PDF.

GB/T 46282.1-2025 — This document specifies the requirements and quality assessment procedures for wavelength switches. This document applies to fiber optic wavelength switches (generally referring to devices, components, and systems with active or passive characteristics) that possess the following characteristics.

(Hereinafter referred to as "wavelength switch"). ---The wavelength switch uses an active driving mechanism, while the optical path is passive, meaning it does not include optical amplification and photoelectric conversion. ---The wavelength switch functions only to switch the route of light and does not have power distribution capabilities.

That is, it does not include signal broadcasting functionality. ---The wavelength switch has no fewer than two power transmission ports, and there are no fewer than two routing switching states between the ports. ---The termination type is fiber optic or fiber optic connector.

The wavelength switching specified in this document includes passive optical paths. Except for attenuation, other signal performance requirements are independent of signal type.

However, special attention is required. Note that certain switching and wavelength identification techniques may affect the channel transmission signal; therefore, spatial crosstalk and operating wavelength range need to be considered.

Performance characteristics such as crosstalk and polarization effects. Wavelength switching typically involves wavelength separation, routing, and multiplexing.

Therefore, a wavelength switch may include multiple optical connectors and internal switching components. For multi-stage switching, this document only specifies the optical performance of the wavelength switching port to port.

This document does not specify the hardware and software for system control and monitoring. Wavelength switching assemblies may contain other functional components (such as fiber optic connectors or...).

Wavelength monitoring), and any resulting degradation in switching performance, are taken into account in the wavelength switching specification.

Fiber Optics Wavelength Switches Part 1: General Specification

1 Scope

This document specifies the requirements and quality assessment procedures for wavelength switches.
