This standard is identical with ISO 665:2000 "fuel moisture and volatile matter content" (in English).
For ease of use, this standard made the following editorial changes.
--- "This International Standard" be replaced by "this standard";
--- Delete foreword international standards;
--- With a decimal point "." Instead of a comma as the decimal point "." this standard is GB/T 14489.1-1993 amendments.
This standard and GB/T 14489.1-1993 technical differences are as follows.
--- Increasing the specific requirements for equipment and sample preparation;
--- Steps of an analysis made specific requirements;
--- Increasing the precision requirements;
--- Added Appendix A.
From the date of implementation of this standard instead of GB/T 14489.1-1993.
Appendix A of this standard is an informative annex.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this standard.
The sample according to the standard operating conditions of the measured mass fraction of material losses.
Principle 4
Samples in 103 °C ± 2 °C drying oven at atmospheric pressure and dried to a constant mass.
5 Instruments
Usual laboratory equipment, in particular the following instruments.
5.1 Analytical balance. dividing the value of 0.0001g.
5.2 mill. easy to clean, suitable for all kinds of oil, and does not make the material is heated in the grinding process, the moisture of the sample, volatile matter and oil containing no effect on the amount.
5.3 Mechanical mill, if not, can be artificial grinding apparatus.
5.4 flat box. metal or glass can be.
If using metal box, it should be able to withstand the conditions measured. Flat box must have a matching lid and allow the distribution per square centimeter of about 0.2g Sample (e.g.. diameter 70mm, high 30mm ~ 40mm). The flat glass bottom seal cartridge equally applicable.
5.5 electric oven. with thermostat and has good natural ventilation function can be adjusted at temperatures between 101 °C ~ 105 °C.
5.6 dryer. fitted with an efficient desiccant such as phosphorus pentoxide, silica gel, activated alumina, etc., and is equipped with a ceramic flat plate for rapid cooling Box (5.4).
6 for sampling
For sampling the contents are not specified in this standard, it recommended ISO 542.
Laboratory samples should have received the real representation can not be damaged or deteriorate during transport or during storage.
7 Sample Preparation
7.1 The method according to ISO 664 and dividing the sample preparation. If not large miscellaneous oil is separated and removed before the sample points reduction supplement in the calculation formula (9.2). If necessary, the original analysis of the sample into the sample or to miscellaneous unless large specimen after oil.
