Scope
GB/T 14382-2008 is the English-translated version of 管道用三通过滤器.
GB/T 14382-2008 specifies the classification, requirements, test methods and inspection rules of tee strainers for pipes, covering nominal sizes up to DN400, nominal pressures PN16 to PN40 and Class 150 to Class 300, and working temperatures from -196 °C to 540 °C. It classifies the strainers into Y-type and T-type designs, the latter in side-flow and straight-flow versions, each in a basic and an extended form, and gives codes for structural type, connection face (threaded Rc or NPT, socket-welding, butt-welding, flanged) and body material (carbon steel, low alloy steel, stainless steel), together with a marking system that includes the screen mesh.
Dimension tables fix the installation lengths, heights, socket bores, drain threads and filtration areas for every size and pressure rating, and the remaining clauses set out requirements on materials, tolerances and testing.
It replaces GB/T 14382-1993: terms, an extended straight-flow type, the PN16, PN25 and PN40 ratings for straight-flow strainers, dimensional and form tolerances, non-destructive testing of butt welds and hydrostatic strength test pressures for stated design conditions have been added, socket bores have been revised and the hydrostatic seal test has been dropped.

Foreword
This standard is a revision of GB/T 14382-1993, Tee strainers for fluids for pipes.
Compared with GB/T 14382-1993, the main changes in this standard are as follows:
- terms have been added;
- an extended type has been added to the straight-flow T-type strainers;
- the socket bore dimensions have been modified;
- three pressure ratings, PN16, PN25 and PN40, have been added to the straight-flow T-type strainers;
- tolerances on the main dimensions and form tolerances of the strainers have been added;
- requirements for non-destructive testing of butt welds have been added;
- hydrostatic strength test pressures for specified design temperature and design pressure conditions have been added;
- the hydrostatic seal test has been deleted.
From the date of its implementation, this standard replaces GB/T 14382-1993.
