Scope

GB/T 13693-2017 is the English-translated version of 道路硅酸盐水泥.

China's national standard for road Portland cement - a cement made specifically for concrete pavement, and one of the few cases where a special cement is justified by the application rather than by convenience. It specifies the terms and definitions, the components and materials, the grades, the technical requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules, and the packaging, marking, transport and storage of road Portland cement. A concrete road slab is loaded differently from a structure. It is thin relative to its plan area, it is restrained by friction against the ground, it is exposed on one face to the sun and the weather and on the other to a base that may be damp, and it carries a repeated bending load from traffic rather than a steady compressive one. The failures that result are not compressive failures: they are cracking from drying shrinkage and from thermal movement, and surface loss from abrasion and from freeze-thaw. So the cement is specified on the properties that address those. Its composition is controlled to limit the shrinkage and to give a high flexural strength rather than simply a high compressive one, the tricalcium aluminate is limited because it is the phase most involved in shrinkage and in sulfate attack, and the abrasion resistance of the hardened cement is a requirement in its own right - which it is not in an ordinary Portland cement standard. To those are added the setting time, the soundness, the fineness, the strength grades in both compression and flexure, and the limits on the minor constituents. Issued on 1 November 2017 and in force since 1 September 2018, it replaces GB 13693-2005.

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This standard replaces GB/T 13693-2005 "Portland Portland Cement." Compared with GB/T 13693-2005, the main technical content change As follows:

--- By the mandatory standard to recommended standards;

--- Increase the type of mixed materials (see 4.4,.2005 version 4.3);

--- Modify the classification of road portland cement (see Chapter 5,.2005 edition of 5);

--- Increasing the chloride content of cement requirements (see 6.1.4). This standard proposed by the China Building Materials Federation. This standard by the National Cement Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC184) centralized. The main drafting unit of this standard. China Building Materials Academy. This standard specifies the terms and definitions of road portland cement, components and materials, grading, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packages Equipment, signs, transportation and storage. This standard applies to road pavement, the airport pavement and wear-resistant, anti-shrinkage and other performance requirements of other projects with high Portland Portland cement Production and use.
