This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting. This document replaces GB/T 12918-2009 "Technical Conditions for Oil Discharge Monitoring System of Oil Tankers". Compared with GB/T 12918-2009, except for the In addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

---Added the definition of biofuels (see 3.5);

---Added data recording requirements (see 4.9.1);

---Changed the manual operation alternative method in case of equipment failure (see 4.11,.2009 version of 4.11);

This document specifies the requirements, test methods and inspection rules for the oil discharge monitoring system of oil tankers (hereinafter referred to as the monitoring system). This document applies to the design, manufacture and inspection of oil discharge monitoring systems for oil tankers of 150 gross tonnage and above.

3.1 A system for monitoring the discharge of oily ballast water or other oily water from the cargo hold area into the sea.

Note. Mainly composed of sampling system, oil content meter, analysis unit, flow meter, calculation unit, etc.

3.2 A device that is automatically programmed to stop discharges overboard under alarm conditions and prevent discharges throughout the alarm period.
