Scope

GB/T 12626.2-2009 is the English-translated version of 湿法硬质纤维板 第2部分:对所有板型的共同要求.

Part 2 of China's series on wet process hardboard, carrying the requirements common to every board type in the series. It specifies the common requirements for wet process hardboard, together with the inspection rules, the test methods and the marking, packaging, transport and storage. The requirements are the properties that decide whether a board can be used for anything: the density, which governs everything else in a fibre board; the dimensional tolerances in thickness, length, width and squareness, and the straightness of the edges, which determine whether the board can be cut and fitted without waste; the moisture content at delivery, which has to be near the equilibrium of the place the board is going or the board will move after it is fixed; the bending strength and the modulus of elasticity; the internal bond, which is the tensile strength perpendicular to the plane and the property that decides whether a fixing pulls out or a face delaminates; the swelling in thickness after immersion, which is the number that separates a board suitable for humid conditions from one that is not; and the surface quality. To these are added the formaldehyde emission, since hardboard is used indoors in quantity and even a low-adhesive board carries some. What makes a common requirements part useful rather than redundant is that it lets the type-specific parts be short: everything that is true of all hardboard is stated once here, and the parts that follow say only what is different about a particular type. The inspection rules and the sampling refer to Part 3. Issued on 30 September 2009 and in force since 1 December 2009, it replaces GB/T 12626.2-1990.

1 Scope
