This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents"

This document is the second part of GB/T 12184 "Information Processing Magnetic Ink Character Recognition". GB/T 12184 has issued the following

part.

--- Part 1.Printing Specifications for E13B;

--- Part 2.Printing specifications for CMC7.

This document replaces GB/T 12184-2007 "Information Processing Magnetic Ink Character Recognition Printing Specification". and GB/T 12184-2007

In contrast, except for structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

a) Changed the standard name;

b) change "error" to "tolerance" (see Chapter 1, Chapter 15 of the.2007 edition);

c) Changed the expression of combination C26 (see 4.1, 16.1 of the.2007 edition);

d) change the term "stroke" to "stroke" (see Chapter 10, Chapter 22 of the.2007 edition);

e) Added the use of CMC7 characters (see Appendix A).

This document is equivalent to ISO 1004-2.2013 "Information Processing Magnetic Ink Character Recognition Part 2.Printing Specifications for CMC7".

The following minimal editorial changes have been made to this document.

--- Change "terms, definitions, symbols and abbreviations" to "terms and definitions, symbols and abbreviations" (see Chapter 3);

--- Increase the connection number in the form of a word line in the space in the table (see Table 1).

3 Terms and definitions, symbols and abbreviations

3.1 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1.1

magnetic ink

Magnetic ink (ink) with magnetizability and recognizability.

3.1.2

vertical misalignment

The offset of the printed characters on the ticket relative to the nominal vertical position.

3.1.3

Missing void

Areas outside of the print edge areas and line segment end areas that should be inked but not inked.

3.1.4

segmentendzones

An area with a maximum height of 0.22mm at either end of a stroke line segment or stroke.

3.1.5

residual signal level residualsignallevel

The maximum signal level produced by the residual print after the characters are deinked.
