This standard is Part 4 of the series on plugs, fixed or portable socket-outlets and appliance inlets for industrial purposes, and it covers switched socket-outlets with or without interlock. It is a recommended national standard.
Manufacturers of industrial connection devices, electrical contractors, panel and distribution board builders, certification and test laboratories, and equipment exporters can use it when designing, selecting or testing these products. Facilities managers who specify socket-outlets for industrial sites may also consult it.
It was issued on 5 October 2025 and took effect on 1 May 2026, so it is already in force. It replaces GB/T 11918.4-2014. Technical files and test reports that cite the earlier edition should be checked against the new document.

GB/T 11918.4-2025 is a recommended national standard (GB/T) of the People's Republic of China, issued on 5 October 2025 by the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Standardization Administration of China, with effect from 1 May 2026.
This edition replaces GB/T 11918.4-2014.
The document adopts an international standard (ISO or IEC).
It is under the responsibility of the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association.
