1 Scope

GB 42297-2022 is the Chinese national standard on general requirements for fall protection equipment, in the field of environment and health protection, safety. It carries no /T suffix, which in the Chinese system means compliance is mandatory: a product or a practice within its scope has to meet it to be lawfully made, sold or carried out in China. It was issued on 29 December 2022 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 January 2024. Classification: ICS 13.340.99, CCS C73. This document specifies the types of fall protection equipment, basic technical requirements, markings and information provided by the manufacturer. This document applies to fall protection equipment used when working at heights. This document does not apply to fall protection equipment used in sports, firefighting and other industries.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions defined in GB/T 12903 apply to this document.

3.1 Work at heights workaheights Work performed at a height that may fall 2m or more from the fall height reference plane. [Source: GB/T 3608-2008, 3.1]
