1 Scope

GB 40560-2021 is the Chinese national standard on technical specification for authentication capability of rmb cash authentication machines, in the field of services and company organization. It carries no /T suffix, which in the Chinese system means compliance is mandatory: a product or a practice within its scope has to meet it to be lawfully made, sold or carried out in China. It was issued on 20 July 2021 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 August 2023. This document specifies the technical requirements and test methods for the identification ability of RMB cash machines. This document is applicable to cash machines with the function of authenticating RMB, including paper money identification machines and coin identification machines.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Banknote Currency issued by the People's Bank of China in accordance with the law and printed and circulating on the basis of specific substrates.

3.2 Coin Currency issued by the People's Bank of China, made on the basis of metal or other synthetic materials, and in circulation.

3.3 Counterfeit currency counterfeit Is not issued by the People's Bank of China, imitating the appearance or physical and chemical characteristics of RMB, which is sufficient to misidentify the public and may perform currency functions medium. Note
