GB 29539-2025 specifies the energy efficiency grades, minimum allowable values of energy efficiency and implementation requirements for household and similar range hoods, ventilating fans and multi-function appliances with a ventilating function, and describes the corresponding test methods.
It covers externally exhausting range hoods rated up to 250 V and single-phase motor-driven ventilating fans rated up to 250 V, 500 W input and 500 mm impeller diameter, but not downdraft or commercial extraction devices, industrial, marine or built-in fans, Type C and bidirectional fans, Type B and D fans below 25 Pa maximum static pressure, or filtered fans with fresh-air PM2.5 filtration efficiency above 90%.
It defines the minimum allowable values, standby, off, network and active modes and standby and off power, sets the grades and limits in Chapter 4 and the test methods in Chapter 5, with normative annexes on total pressure efficiency at working air flow, standby and off power, heating energy consumption of bathroom heaters and the energy efficiency of ventilating fans.
It replaces GB 29539-2013 and incorporates GB 32049-2015, revising the scope, terms, grade division and test methods, adding implementation requirements and deleting the evaluating values of energy conservation, inspection rules and the grade marking of ventilating fans.

This document was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2020 Directives for standardization - Part 1: Rules for the structure and drafting of standardizing documents.
This document replaces GB 29539-2013 Minimum allowable values of energy efficiency and energy efficiency grades for range hoods and GB 32049-2015 Minimum allowable values of energy efficiency and energy efficiency grades for household and similar AC ventilating fans. Compared with GB 29539-2013 and GB 32049-2015, apart from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:
- the scope of application of the standard has been changed (see Chapter 1; Chapter 1 of GB 29539-2013 and Chapter 1 of GB 32049-2015);
- the terms and definitions have been changed (see Chapter 3; Chapter 3 of GB 29539-2013 and Chapter 3 of GB 32049-2015);
- the requirements for the division of energy efficiency grades of range hoods and ventilating fans have been changed (see Chapter 4; Chapter 4 of GB 29539-2013 and Chapter 4 of GB 32049-2015);
- the test methods for range hoods and ventilating fans have been changed (see Chapter 5; Chapter 7 of GB 29539-2013 and Chapter 5 of GB 32049-2015);
- requirements on the implementation of the standard for range hoods and ventilating fans have been added (see Chapter 6);
- the evaluating values of energy conservation and the inspection rules for range hoods and ventilating fans have been deleted (see Chapters 6 and 8 of GB 29539-2013; 4.5 and Chapter 6 of GB 32049-2015);
- the energy efficiency grade marking of ventilating fans has been deleted (see Chapter 7 of GB 32049-2015).
