Scope
GB 29145-2023 is the English-translated version of 钨精矿、钼精矿和焙烧钼精矿单位产品能源消耗限额.
GB 29145-2023 sets the grades, technical requirements, statistical scope and calculation method for the limits of energy consumption per unit product of tungsten concentrate from underground mines, molybdenum concentrate from open-pit mines and roasted molybdenum concentrate; it is used to calculate and assess energy consumption and to control it in new, rebuilt and expansion projects, but not for open-pit tungsten, underground molybdenum or by-product concentrates.
Three grades are defined in kgce/t, grade 1 being the most efficient: for tungsten concentrate 550/1 150/1 450 for wolframite and 1 640/1 750/2 050 for scheelite; for molybdenum concentrate 1 250/1 390/1 475 for three-stage closed-circuit crushing and 1 900/2 060/2 150 for SABC; for roasted molybdenum concentrate 210/230/260 in multiple-hearth furnaces and 170/180/200 in internally heated rotary kilns.
Existing plants must meet grade 3 and new, rebuilt or expanded projects grade 2.
The document defines which mining, beneficiation, auxiliary and ancillary energy uses are counted, bases output on standard grades of 65% W, 45% Mo and 48% Mo, and gives the formula for energy consumption per unit product together with a comparable-consumption method using raw ore grade conversion factors, with annexes on conversion factors.
It consolidates and replaces GB 29145-2012, GB 29146-2012 and GB 31340-2014, with revised limits, a new SABC production type for molybdenum concentrate, new production types for roasting and revised raw ore grade conversion factors.

This document was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2020 Directives for standardization - Part 1: Rules for the structure and drafting of standardizing documents.
This document replaces GB 29145-2012 The norm of energy consumption per unit products of roasted molybdenum concentrate, GB 29146-2012 The norm of energy consumption per unit products of molybdenum concentrate and GB 31340-2014 The norm of energy consumption per unit products of tungsten concentrates. Compared with GB 29145-2012, GB 29146-2012 and GB 31340-2014, apart from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:
a) the limit requirements and indicators for tungsten concentrate, molybdenum concentrate and roasted molybdenum concentrate have been changed (see Clause 4; Clause 4 of GB 29145-2012, Clause 4 of GB 29146-2012 and Clause 4 of GB 31340-2014);
b) requirements on energy consumption per unit product of molybdenum concentrate for the SABC production type have been added (see 4.2);
c) the production types for energy consumption per unit product of roasted molybdenum concentrate have been changed to multiple-hearth furnace and internally heated rotary kiln (see 4.3; Clause 4 of GB 29145-2012);
d) a method for calculating the comparable energy consumption per unit product of tungsten concentrate and molybdenum concentrate has been added (see 6.2);
e) the raw ore grade conversion factors have been changed (see Annex C; Annex C of GB 29146-2012 and Annex C of GB 31340-2014).
