3.1 Electrical and electronic products

3.7 Catalogue for compliance management of restricted use of hazardous

A product catalogue developed for the implementation of the management of the restricted use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products.

NOTE 1: It includes the categories of electrical and electronic products, the types of hazardous substances restricted for use, the restricted use period, and exception requirements.

NOTE 2: This catalogue is issued or updated by the competent authority for the restricted use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products. The catalogue for compliance management of restricted use of hazardous substances in the first batch of electrical and electronic products can be found in Bibliography [4].

5.1 Limit value requirements

The categories of hazardous substances restricted for use in the homogeneous materials that constitute electrical and electronic products and their limits shall meet the requirements of Appendix A.

5.2 Test methods

The determination of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products shall be conducted according to the methods in the corresponding parts of GB/T 39560 (all parts).

5.3 Compliance judgement requirements

5.3.1 Classification and Requirements of test units

When testing according to the test method in 5.2, the electrical and electronic products shall be disassembled into test units according to the procedures and requirements of GB/T 39560.2, following the principle of disassembling them into homogeneous materials as much as possible. These test units shall then be classified according to Table 2. […]

5.3.2 Compliance judgement rules

When the test results for hazardous substances in all test units of an electrical and electronic product disassembled according to the requirements of 5.3.1 meet the requirements of Table 3, the product shall be judged to meet the requirements of 5.1. If the test results for hazardous substances in any test unit do not meet the requirements of Table 3, the product shall be judged not to meet the requirements of 5.1.

6.1 General requirements

6.1.1 Producers or importers of electrical and electronic products shall mark the hazardous substances contained in their products in accordance with the requirements of this Clause.

6.1.2 Products purchased for production support may not be marked with the restricted use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products. In this case, the supplier shall provide all required information for marking upon the purchaser's request.

NOTE: "Products purchased for production support" generally refer to components, materials, and other products purchased by a manufacturer from its supplier for the production of a specific product. These components or materials are not sold directly to consumers.

6.1.3 Spare parts used for after-sales service such as repairs, returns, and exchanges of sold electrical and electronic products may not be marked with the restricted use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products. In this case, the supplier shall maintain the information technology supporting documentation for the hazardous substance content of the spare parts in accordance with the requirements of 6.5.

6.4 Marking requirements

6.4.1 Generally, manufacturers or importers of electrical and electronic products shall mark the markings shown in Figure 1 or Figure 2 directly on a visible part of the product by molding, laser engraving, spraying, pasting, or printing. The markings must be clearly legible, non-fading, and difficult to remove. If digital marking is used, the requirements in 6.4.5 shall apply. 6.4. […]

6.5 Document retention

C.1 Marking interpretation

The marking connotation of the restricted use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products includes three portions: whether the electrical and electronic product contains hazardous substances, the environment-friendly use period of the electrical and electronic product, and whether the electrical and electronic product is recyclable.

Mark I is generally green, indicating that the product does not contain hazardous substances. The letter "e" in the middle of the graphic represents electrical and electronic products and environmental protection, symbolizing green and environment-friendly electrical and electronic products. The lines with arrows forming a circular circle outside the graphic indicate that the electrical and electronic product is recyclable. The entire graphic indicates that the electrical and electronic product does not contain hazardous substances and is a green and environment-friendly product.

Mark II is typically orange, indicating that the product contains hazardous substances. A replaceable number appears in the center of the graphic, clearly indicating the environmentfriendly use period for the electrical and electronic product. The lines with arrows forming a circular circle outside the graphic indicate that the electrical and electronic product is recyclable. The entire graphic conveys the message that, although the electrical and electronic product contains hazardous substances, it can be safely used within the environment-friendly use period.

C.2 Color description

For Mark I, if green is used, the four primary color values for printing (C:85, M:30, Y:85, K:20) should be used.

For Mark II, if orange is used, the four primary color values for printing (C:0, M:75, Y:100, K:0) should be used.
