This standard replaces GB/T 2290-1994 "coal tar." this standard compared with GB/T 2290-1994, the main changes are as follows.

--- Removed the volatile index;

--- Remove the Notes to Table "floor temperature pitch ash No. 2 allows less than 1%." the standard proposed by China Iron and Steel Association.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements of coal tar, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage and quality certificate.

This standard applies to high-temperature coal tar obtained by processing low-temperature, medium temperature and high temperature coal tar pitch.

3 Technical requirements

Technical requirements for bituminous coal should meet the requirements of Table 1.
