Scope

GB 20687-2006 is the English-translated version of 溴鼠灵母药.

GB 20687-2006 specifies the requirements, test methods, and marking, labelling, packaging, storage and transport of brodifacoum technical concentrate, the liquid concentrate made by dissolving brodifacoum technical material and the necessary adjuvants in a suitable organic solvent; it also records the identity and physico-chemical data of the active ingredient (CA 56073-10-0, C31H23O3Br).

The product must be a stable homogeneous liquid with a warning colour, with a brodifacoum mass fraction of at least 0.50 %, a cis/trans isomer ratio alpha(A/B) of 1.0 to 4.0 and a pH of 7.0 to 11.0.

Brodifacoum content and the isomer ratio are determined by reversed-phase HPLC on an Eclipse XDB-C8 column with UV detection at 254 nm and external standard quantification, which also serves as the identification test; pH follows GB/T 1601, sampling GB/T 1605-2001 and acceptance GB/T 1604.

Packaging is in 0.5 kg plastic bottles with cartons of not more than 20 kg, with safety instructions (antidote vitamin K) and a 2-year warranty period; clauses 3 and 5 are mandatory and the rest recommendatory.
