GB 1886.369-2023 is the Chinese national food safety standard for the food additive blue ingot fruit red, the red colouring taken from the blue indigo fruit (Lonicera caerulea Linn.) of the Caprifoliaceae family.

It applies to the additive made by extracting the berries with water and/or edible ethanol and then refining, concentrating and drying the extract. It gives the chemical name and molecular formula of the main component, cyanidin glucoside (C21H21O11), and its relative molecular mass of 449.38.

It then sets the sensory requirements of Table 1 - deep red to purple colour, powdery state with no foreign matter visible to normal vision and the odour characteristic of the product - with the inspection method, a sample examined on a clean dry white porcelain plate under natural light. It was issued on 6 September 2023 and has applied since 6 March 2024.
