GB 1886.368-2023 is the Chinese national food safety standard for the food additive (2S,5R)-N-[4-(2-amino-2-oxoethyl)phenyl]-5-methyl-2-(propyl-2-)cyclohexanecarboxamide, made from (2S,5R)-5-methyl-2-propyl-2-cyclohexanecarbonyl chloride and 4-aminophenylacetic acid.
It gives the chemical name, the structural formula, the molecular formula C19H28N2O2 and the relative molecular mass 316.45, calculated from the 2018 international relative atomic masses.
It then sets the technical requirements, beginning with the sensory ones: a white crystalline solid with a cool aroma, examined in a clean dry white porcelain dish under natural light, the aroma being checked according to GB/T 14454.2.
Producers of the additive and food control laboratories use it to decide whether a batch conforms. It was issued on 6 September 2023 and has applied since 6 March 2024.
