GB 17498 "Stationary training equipment" consists of the following nine sections.

3 Terms and Definitions

GB 17498.1 establish the following terms and definitions apply to this part of GB 17498.

3.1

5 Safety requirements

5.1 General

Design of equipment parts shall meet the following requirements.

5.3 Emergency Stop

5.4 locking method

6.4 Test Press.

5.6 Static load

a) H class body mass (100kg) four times;

b) S class body mass (100kg) six times.

After the test, the treadmill should have according to the manufacturer's instructions properly function.

On sloping treadmill test should be carried out separately in the case of a horizontal state, the intermediate state and the maximum slope.

5.7 Durability

When you press the 6.7 test, the treadmill should bear.

a) H class 12,000 shocks;

5.8 Sidearms/front handle

For user support and emergency jump off the treadmill should be equipped with a front side of the handle or handrail. And may use one of the following configurations.

a) a front handle;

b) two side handrails;

c) a combination of both.

5.9 foot platform

Treadmills should be equipped with a foot platform, see Figure 1.

After removing the cylinder cover, the foot platform and running the length of the surface should be the same, and a minimum width of 80mm.

Foot platform should have at least 400mm × 70mm non-slip surface, when the test according to ISO 5904, the coefficient of friction of not less than 0.5.

When the test by 6.9, permanent deformation of the foot platform should not exceed 3%.

Side armrest can be connected to the foot platforms.

Note. This article does not apply to non-slope or flywheels human treadmill.

5.10 Electrical safety

Electrical and electronic safety-related requirements should be consistent with the general purpose of the requirements of GB 4706.1, for medical purposes should be consistent with GB 9706.1

6 Test methods

6.1 Test drive member and the rotating member

6.10 Accuracy test time, speed, distance

Human-powered treadmill, should 8km/h to drive the wheels, in order to check the accuracy of its readings through a speed.

Test time measuring device accuracy should be more than 30min.

7 Additional Operating Instructions

In addition to GB 17498.1-2008, shall provide each treadmill easy to understand instructions.

Based on categories, instructions shall contain at least the following.

The maximum body mass a) users;

Description and function b) fixing method described;

c) jumped off the emergency;

d) an emergency stop device;

e) equipment rear 2000mm × 1000mm safe area.
