Scope
GB 16169-2005 is the English-translated version of 摩托车和轻便摩托车 加速行驶噪声限值及测量方法.
GB 16169 sets the drive-by noise limits for motorcycles and mopeds and the acceleration test by which they are measured: the machine passes the microphone line at a defined speed and gear under full acceleration, and the peak A-weighted level is compared against the limit for its engine capacity class.
It also covers the type approval use of the result and the conformity of production. It is replaced by GB 4569-2026 from 1 January 2029. Issued on 15 April 2005 by the State Environmental Protection Administration, in force since 1 July 2005, replacing GB 16169-1996.
