GB 15763.2 Safety glazing materials in building - Part 2.Tempered glass

3 Terms and definitions

For the purpose of this Part, following terms and definitions apply.

4 General principle

The quality of glass for production of heat soaked thermally tempered glass shall comply

with the appropriate product standards.

5 Requirements

The performance and test methods for heat soaked thermally tempered glass shall be in

accordance with those specified in Table 1.

5.1 Dimension and permissible deviation

It shall be in accordance with those specified in GB 15763.2.

5.2 Thickness and permissible deviation

It shall be in accordance with those specified in GB 15763.2.

5.7 Impact property of shot-bag

It shall be in accordance with those specified in GB 15763.2.

5.8 Surface stress

It shall be in accordance with those specified in GB 15763.2.

5.9 Heat shock resistance

It shall be in accordance with those specified in GB 15763.2.

5.10 Bending strength (four-point bending method)

With 95% confidence interval and 5% probability of damage, the bending stress of heat

soaked thermally tempered glass shall meet the requirements in Table 2.

6 Test methods

6.1 General principle

The inspection or measurement of size, thickness, appearance, bending, fragment state

and surface stress shall be conducted with samples of finished products of heat soaked

thermally tempered glass.

6.2 Dimension inspection

It shall be in accordance with those specified in GB 15763.2.

6.3 Thickness inspection

It shall be in accordance with those specified in GB 15763.2.

6.4 Appearance quality inspection

It shall be in accordance with those specified in GB 15763.2.

6.5 Measurement of bending

It shall be in accordance with those specified in GB 15763.2.

6.10 Heat shock resistance performance

It shall be in accordance with those specified in GB 15763.2.

6.11 Bending strength (Four-point bending)

Testing according to annex B, and calculating the bending strength.

7 Inspection rules

7.1 Inspection items

The inspection is classified into exit-factory inspection and type inspection.

7.1.1 Exit-factory inspection

Inspection items are thickness and its deviation, appearance quality, size and its deviation,

and bending of heat soaked thermally tempered glass. Other test items shall be

determined by the Supplier and the Purchaser through negotiation.

7.2 Exit-factory inspection batch and sampling method

7.2.1 Thickness and its deviation, appearance quality, size and its deviation, and

bending, of the product are subject to random sampling according to Table 3.

7.3 Type inspection batch and sampling method

7.3.1 For other technical performances required by type inspection, if product

inspection is used, random sampling shall be made from this batch of heat soaked

thermally tempered glass products based on the number required by the test items; if

samples are used for inspection, the heat soaked thermally tempered samples under the

same process conditions shall be used. When the number of products of this batch is

greater than 1,000, sampling shall be made based on 1,000 as a batch; when the test item

is a non-destructive test, it can use the sample to continuously test other items.

7.4 Determining criterion

7.4.1 For inspection of thickness and its deviation, appearance quality, size and its

deviation, and bending, if the number of nonconforming products is equal to or

greater than the base number of nonconforming products in Table 3, it is deemed

as unqualified.

7.4.2 Make judgment according to those specified in GB 15763.2 when carrying on

impact resistance testing.

7.4.3 Make judgment according to those specified in GB 15763.2 when carrying on

fragment state testing.

7.4.7 For bending strength (four-point bending method) test, when the samples are all

in line with the requirements, this item is pass.

7.4.8 If one of the above inspection items is unqualified, the products of this batch are

deemed as unqualified.

8 Marking

"Heat soaked thermally tempered glass" or "HST" shall be marked on the glass or on the

minimum package.

9 Packaging, transportation and storage

Packaging, transportation and storage shall be in accordance with those specified in GB

15763.2.
