Scope

GB 14470.1-2002 is the English-translated version of 兵器工业水污染物排放标准 火炸药.

Part 1 of GB 14470 sets the limits on water pollutants discharged by the propellant and explosive plants of China's ordnance industry. Nitration and purification produce effluents that the general integrated wastewater standard does not describe — nitrobodies, spent acid, TNT red water — and this standard gives them their own maximum allowable concentrations, together with the monitoring requirements and the rules for implementation and supervision, with a normative annex on how to compute the limit for a mixed effluent. It consolidates and replaces four earlier documents, including GB 14470.1-1993 and the separate 1984 standards for TNT and RDX production. Issued on 18 November 2002, in force since 1 July 2003. This page is published from the official record of the standard held by the Chinese standards administration: the identification, the dates, the classification and the edition it replaces are taken from there. The clause text, the tables and the numeric limits are not reproduced on this page — they are in the document itself, which is delivered in full in English translation.
