Scope

YY/T 1981-2025 is the English-translated version of 放射治疗计划软件 电子束剂量计算准确性要求和试验方法.

YY/T 1981 puts a number on how accurate a radiotherapy planning system has to be for electron beams. It specifies the requirements for the accuracy of electron beam dose calculation in radiotherapy treatment planning software, referred to as RTPS, and describes the corresponding test methods. It applies to planning software handling external beam electron radiotherapy. Electron beams behave differently from photons at tissue interfaces and near the surface, which is where dose calculation algorithms diverge most and where a planning error reaches the patient directly. The document takes effect on 1 January 2027. For a vendor of treatment planning systems seeking Chinese registration, or a hospital physics team commissioning one, this is the standard the electron dose accuracy verification is run against.
