Scope
YY/T 1538-2017 is the English-translated version of 放射治疗用自动扫描水模体系统性能和试验方法.
YY/T 1538-2017 is the Chinese pharmaceutical industry standard for the automatic scanning water phantom system used in radiotherapy, the tank in which a detector is moved to map the dose distribution of a treatment beam.
It sets the functional and performance requirements and the test methods, covering the accuracy and repeatability of the detector positioning in the three axes, the levelling and the water surface reference, the scanning speed and the synchronisation with the measurement, the electrometer channels and the software that reconstructs depth doses and profiles. Issued on 2 May 2017, it has applied since 1 April 2018.

Foreword
This Standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the functional-performance requirements and test methods for automatic scanning water phantom system for radiotherapy. The system, by moving the detector, realizes the automatic measurement of radiation dose distribution for radiotherapy.
This standard applies only to one-dimensional, two-dimensional, three-dimensional auto-scanning water phantom system for radiotherapy.
2 Normative References
The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated references, only the edition dated applies to this document. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced documents (including all amendments) applies to This Standard.

3 Terms and Definitions
Those defined in GB/T 17857 and YY/T 0976-2016 AND the following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Automatic scanning water phantom system
Automatic scanning water phantom system (also known as scanning water tank, hereinafter referred to as the system) is an ionizing radiation measuring system in the field of radiation therapy, which automatically measures the radiation dose distribution by moving the detector.
3.2 System coordinate system
The coordinate system given by each axis of the system. The zero point generally goes over the beam axis AND points out the direction.
3.4 Reference detector
The detector that is fixed, in the measured radiation field, at position where the disturbance to measurement is minimum; it is used to eliminate the influence of measurement results by the fluctuation of measured radiation beam. The detector can be an ionization chamber or a semiconductor.
4 Requirements
4.1 Accompanying documents... 5
Accompanying documents shall contain, at least, the following content.
4.2 Positioning accuracy... 6
The error that the detector reaches the specified position, along each axis, shall not exceed 0.2mm.
4.3 Positioning repeatability... 6
After the detector repeatedly reaches the designated position, along each axis, the repeatability of returning to the initial position shall not exceed 0.1mm.
4.4 Verticality of each axis... 6
When the travel-range is less than or equal to 200mm, the deviation between the travel-direction axis and the reference straight-line of other axes shall not exceed 0.5mm.
4.7 Software functions... 7
The software shall include, at least, the following functions.
5 Test methods
5.1 Accompanying documents... 7
Check accompanying documents. It shall meet the requirements of 4.1.
5.2 Positioning accuracy... 7
When the system works under normal conditions, follow the methods below.
5.3 Positioning repeatability... 8
When the system works under normal use-conditions, follow the methods below.
Manipulate the moving components in each direction; move to the following specified positions.
5.4 Verticality of each axis... 8
When the system works under normal use-conditions, follow the methods below.
Manipulate the moving components in each direction; move to the following specified positions.
5.5 Density of sampling point... 8
Start automatic scanning water phantom system for radiotherapy; for function checking, it shall meet the requirements of 4.5.
5.6 Requirements of radiation measurement unit... 9
The method is as follows.
