1 Foreword

YY/T 1147-2004 was issued by National Medical Products Administration of the People's Republic of China on 10 October 2004 and has been in force since 1 September 2005.

2 Scope

This standard is the Chinese medical device industry standard giving the general technical conditions for electric dental engines. It sets terms and definitions, classification and model designation, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, labeling and packaging. The equipment in scope is the motor-driven electric dental drill used in the dental technology workshop for drilling, grinding, filling and polishing, and also usable in the treatment room for work on teeth. Its normative references are GB/T 191-2000, GB 9706.1-1995, GB 9969.1-1998, GB/T 14710-1993, YY 0059.1-1991 and YY 0059.3-1991. The standard replaces YY 91147-1999.
